Hong Kong goes all-out during Christmas. In Denmark where I grew up, the holidays were a mostly quiet and restrained affair, focused on family and tradition. In Canada, Christmas is becoming an increasingly commercial event. And here in Hong Kong it’s the shopping Olympics, no doubt about it!
Every year the malls roll out their Christmas displays as a matter of pride, attracting tourists and locals alike – and their wallets. Some of the malls spend big money on these installations, especially the high end luxury shopping centers. And the displays are new every year – no repeats.
So if you’re curious about what the displays look like this year, here is a collection of the most popular locations in the city. Sure beats fighting the crowds.
This year, the top pick surely goes to the miniature Paris display at The Landmark Atrium… The quality and attention to detail is second to none. Go check it out before it’s gone forever!
Merry Christmas everyone.
