It’s almost 2018 – really? With a few hours left of 2017, it’s time for many to reflect on everything that’s happened during the year, good and bad, happy and perhaps a bit sad. And as always, a time to look back at some of my favourite photos of a year that just seemed to fly by.
2017 was a year of travel for me, and not just because of my annual Toronto-Hong Kong “migration”. Two major trips to some of the most faraway places in the world were a true inspiration. First, a visit to the Australia’s island-state Tasmania which in many ways reminded me of Canada; and second, an excursion to the remote Faroe Islands, which was a homecoming of sorts to my country of birth, Denmark. Of course, in between these big adventures I tried to squeeze in as many camping and hiking outings as possible.
As I look at these photos, I am reminded that while scenery and beautiful locations matter, what’s really important are the memories each image holds – friends and family, travel companions, and all the people I’ve met on these adventures. This is really the objective of this photo blog as a visual personal diary. I am glad to be able to share these memories with you, dear reader – thank you for following along for yet another year! Thank you for your views, reads, likes, follows, and comments. They mean the world to me.
Here’s wishing you good health, plenty of laughs, and great memories for 2018. There’s lots of good things headed our way.
Happy New Year to you all!
