Nova Scotia Remembers

Earlier this week on April 18 and 19, a lone gunman went on a deadly rampage near Portapique in rural Nova Scotia, Canada. Dressed as an officer in a RCMP police cruiser, he murdered 22 people before being killed by local law enforcement. This is now the deadliest mass shooting in Canadian history.

Nova Scotia, 2013.

Canadians abroad and at home are coming to grips with this senseless act of violence, and are united in mourning the loss of innocent lives brutally cut short by a madman. Compounding the tragedy are the physical distancing rules in place during the global Covid-19 pandemic, which makes grieving that much more difficult.

My heart goes out to all those affected by this terrible event. Though we cannot be there in person, with are with you in spirit. Together, we will get through this.

An online virtual vigil in remembrance of the victims.
