I met Frits (“With an S, I’m Dutch not German!”) at the Toronto Harbourfront Festival. He saw me walking around with a camera and suggested that I check out a nearby photography exhibit. Frits has been in Canada for a while but is originally from The Hague in Holland. I’ve been there before way back in my high school days, and we agreed that it was a beautiful city – the majesty of the government buildings only to be ruined by the opening of a McDonalds next door 🙂
Frits was also a photographer but nowadays his hands are not steady enough… but he definitely had “the eye” for it. He preferred not to look into the camera but I still managed to get a few good portrait shots. I think this one captures him the best.
This picture is #12 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page.
