Henry is a member of the 51 Division Community Police Liason Committee. I met him at the police station open house event, where he was happy to explain the role and challenges of the CPLC (in particular, 51 Division is part of a fairly rough area of downtown Toronto with its fair share of poverty and drug crime – although the recent condo developments there have revitalized the neighbourhood).
He was very surprised and pleased that I wanted to take his portrait, and happily posed for a few shots. I do wish I had taken a little more care in getting the exposure right, possibly used the spot meter – the backlighting was very strong.
